Flexible Multi-Gas Monitoring

The Ventis Pro5 offers substantially more sensor flexibility than a conventional four-gas monitor. Standard configurations can provide simultaneous monitoring of combustible gas, oxygen, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide, while alternative sensors allow the instrument to be configured for more specialised hazards.

Available sensor technologies include electrochemical sensors for toxic gases and oxygen, catalytic bead sensors for combustible gases, infrared sensors for hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide, and PID technology for volatile organic compounds.

This makes the Ventis Pro5 suitable both as a conventional personal gas monitor and for applications where additional or less commonly monitored gases need to be incorporated into the same portable instrument.

Available Gas Sensors

The Ventis Pro5 supports a broad selection of sensors. The exact gases that can be monitored simultaneously depend on the selected sensor combination and instrument configuration.

Sensor compatibility and the number of gases that can be measured simultaneously depend on the selected configuration. Contact Imbros for assistance configuring the appropriate sensor combination.

Personal Monitoring and Confined-Space Entry

The Ventis Pro5 can be used as a compact diffusion monitor for continuous personal protection or configured with an integral pump for remote atmosphere sampling.

Pumped configurations are particularly useful for confined-space work, allowing atmospheric samples to be drawn from tanks, pits, vessels and other locations before entry. This allows the same instrument platform to be used for both personal monitoring and pre-entry gas testing.

Worker Safety Features

In addition to gas detection, the Ventis Pro5 incorporates several features designed to assist workers during an emergency.

  • – Dedicated panic button
  • – Man-down alarm functionality
  • – Customisable alarm action messages
  • – Acknowledgeable gas alerts
  • – Four high-visibility alarm LEDs
  • – 95 dB audible alarm
  • – Vibration alarm
  • – LENS™ Wireless alarm sharing

LENS™ Wireless allows compatible Industrial Scientific monitors to form a local wireless group and share gas alarms and instrument information between workers. Up to 25 devices can participate in a LENS Wireless group, with a manufacturer-specified line-of-sight range of up to 100 metres.

Additional connected monitoring options are available from Industrial Scientific for organisations requiring remote fleet or worker monitoring.

Applications

The broad sensor selection and pumped sampling options make the Ventis Pro5 suitable for applications including:

  • – Confined-space entry
  • – Industrial maintenance and shutdowns
  • – Mining and mineral processing
  • – Wastewater and water treatment
  • – Chemical processing and handling
  • – Utilities and infrastructure
  • – Oil, gas and petrochemical operations
  • – Emergency and hazardous-material response
  • – VOC monitoring with PID configurations
  • – Tank and vessel inspection
  • – Personal toxic-gas monitoring
  • – Specialist multi-gas applications

Product Details

Overview

The Ventis Pro5 is a configurable portable gas monitor capable of detecting up to five gases simultaneously. Its broad sensor range allows the platform to cover both conventional four-gas applications and more specialised monitoring requirements.

Diffusion configurations provide compact continuous personal protection, while an optional integral pump allows remote samples to be drawn for confined-space entry and other sampling applications.

A dedicated panic button and man-down functionality provide additional protection beyond conventional gas alarms. Programmable on-screen messages can also provide workers with clear actions such as evacuation instructions when predetermined alarm conditions occur.

LENS™ Wireless is incorporated into the Ventis Pro5 platform, allowing nearby compatible monitors to share alarms and instrument information without requiring a separate wireless infrastructure. Industrial Scientific also offers additional connected services for organisations requiring remote monitoring and fleet-management functionality.
