Tango TX1 Single-Gas Monitor

Eliminate distractions with a lightweight and wearable personal monitor that offers maintenance-free gas detection. The Tango® TX1 single-gas monitor features a two-year runtime and patented DualSense® Technology to increase worker safety, regardless of bump test frequency, while reducing overall costs.

Industrial Scientific Tango TX1 Single-Gas Monitor

The Industrial Scientific Tango TX1 is a wearable single-gas monitor designed for reliable, long-term personal protection against common toxic gas hazards. Its defining feature is Industrial Scientific’s DualSense® Technology, which uses two sensors of the same type to monitor a single target gas and reduce the risk associated with individual sensor failure.

The Tango TX1 is available for CO, H₂S, NO₂, SO₂, NH₃ and HCN, together with a carbon monoxide sensor designed for low hydrogen interference. A replaceable battery provides up to two years of operation depending on conditions, while replaceable sensors allow the monitor to remain in service rather than being treated as a disposable two-year instrument.

DualSense® Sensor Technology

Unlike a conventional single-gas detector using one sensor, the Tango TX1 uses two sensors of the same type to measure the same gas. The readings from both sensors are processed by the instrument and presented to the user as a single gas reading.

This redundant sensor arrangement reduces the likelihood that failure of an individual sensor will leave the wearer without gas detection. If one sensor develops a fault in the field, the remaining sensor can continue to provide gas detection while the instrument alerts the user to the fault condition.

Available Gas Sensors

The Tango TX1 is configured for one target gas, with two matching sensors used for DualSense monitoring.

Product Details

Overview

The Tango TX1 combines a dedicated single-gas format with redundant sensing through Industrial Scientific’s patented DualSense® Technology. Two matching electrochemical sensors monitor the same target gas, with the instrument processing both sensor readings to provide a single displayed concentration.

The monitor incorporates three strobe-emitting visual alarm LEDs, a vibrating alarm and a 100 dB audible alarm measured at 10 cm. For high-noise environments, the optional AlarmAmp™ accessory increases the audible alarm output to 110 dB.

The Tango TX1 uses a replaceable lithium-thionyl chloride battery with an operating life of up to two years depending on operating conditions. Sensors are also replaceable, allowing the instrument to remain in service beyond the life of its original sensors or battery.

The monitor records three months of data at 10-second intervals and stores up to 60 alarm events, providing useful information for exposure review and gas-monitoring programs.

Calibration, Docking & Accessories

The Tango TX1 can be manually bump tested and calibrated using the appropriate calibration gas together with the Tango TX1 calibration cup and tubing.

For instrument fleets, the Tango TX1 is compatible with the Industrial Scientific DSX™ Docking Station. Depending on the selected DSX configuration, docking can simplify routine bump testing, calibration, record keeping and instrument management.

Available Tango TX1 accessories include calibration equipment, replacement batteries, dust and water barriers, carrying cases, clips and the optional AlarmAmp™ audible alarm amplifier.

Contact us for assistance selecting suitable calibration gas, regulators, docking equipment and accessories for your Tango TX1 monitors.

Guaranteed for Life™ Warranty

Industrial Scientific supplies the Tango TX1 with its Guaranteed for Life™ instrument warranty. The instrument is warranted for as long as the Tango TX1 remains supported by Industrial Scientific, excluding sensors, batteries and filters.

CO and H₂S sensors are warranted for three years, while the other available Tango TX1 sensors are warranted for two years. Warranty conditions and current manufacturer support terms should be confirmed when ordering.

Configure Your Tango TX1

The Tango TX1 is available in configurations for CO, low-hydrogen-interference CO, H₂S, NO₂, SO₂, NH₃ and HCN. Because the Tango TX1 uses two matching sensors for its DualSense® functionality, it monitors one target gas at a time. For simultaneous monitoring of two different gases, the Tango TX2 is the appropriate platform.

Contact us with the gas you need to monitor and your application requirements. We can assist with selection of the appropriate Tango TX1 configuration together with calibration gas, regulators, docking equipment and accessories.
