Description: Colorless, odorless, viscous liquid, stable under normal conditions, sweet-tasting and non-toxic.

General Information: In food and beverages, glycerol serves as a humectant, solvent, and sweetener, and may help preserve foods. Can be used in the production of e-cigarette liquid, hand sanitizer, as a thickening agent in liquors, and as a mildly antimicrobial and antiviral treatment for wounds. Useful as antifreeze agent. Glycerol is used to produce nitroglycerin, which is an essential ingredient of various explosives such as dynamite, gelignite, and propellants like cordite.
